Haftarot

On Shabbat, following the Torah reading/ leyning, we read the Haftarah, a passage from the Prophets, part of the Tanach. Just as with the Torah itself, a specific passage is read out each week of the year and on festivals.

It is our custom for a different male member of the congregation to volunteer to do this reading.

Thanks to Andrew Margolis we have an almost complete selection of haftarot for shabbat, festivals and fast days. The list also includes calendrical notes to help ensure that you don’t learn the wrong haftarah, as well as links to downloadable texts of many haftarot in large print.

If you are reading on a mobile you may find this link easier to read.

If you cannot find the portion you are looking for please email the wardens.

If you find these resources useful, please consider making a small donation to the shul.
