We believe in creating a warm, joyful and welcoming space where our youngest members feel at home in shul life from the very beginning. That’s why we’re proud to offer a wide range of activities, services and events just for them.
On Chag and regular Shabbat mornings, we run Children’s Services that are age-appropriate, interactive and full of energy. Whether it’s singing, storytelling or learning the parsha in creative ways, our services are designed to help children love coming to shul. We also make sure they’re included in our wider community experience with their very own kids’ table at Kiddush, and our ever-popular Friday Night Soup Kiddush brings families together after shul in the Winter.
We also love involving children in the main Shabbat service, from leading Anim Zemirot to congregating en masse on the Bimah for Adon Olam. We also love the vibrancy of having kids in the service, we’re not a ‘shushing shul’ – we love having them there!
Our chagim celebrations are a highlight of the year for families, with special events that make the festivals come alive for kids. From costume parades and Megillah madness parties on Purim, to the Carnival on Succot and from fun-packed learning on Pesach to ice cream parties on Shavuot, we make sure there’s always something magical for the children to enjoy.
Our Cheder is a key part of our children’s experience, a fun, friendly and engaging way to learn about Judaism, make friends and grow a sense of Jewish pride and identity. Taught by passionate and dedicated teachers, our Cheder is more than just education, it’s a doorway into Jewish life.
At Muswell Hill Shul, we don’t just welcome children, we celebrate them. They’re part of our community, our services and our simchas. We’re so proud of the role they play in our shul, and we can’t wait to see them grow, lead and shine.
