Get Involved
We need you! Whether you have a little time or a lot, and whatever your interests, there’s a place for you in our community. Our members tell us they find volunteering highly rewarding, that taking part feels like putting the heart and soul into Muswell Hill Synagogue.
“I started leading visits of local schoolchildren to the synagogue as a way of helping to counter the negative impressions about Jews and Judaism that are out there in the press and (more recently) electronic media. It is very rewarding, after a session, to hear them say how much they have learned or how much they enjoyed it. And the positive comments of the teachers and accompanying adults are a further bonus.”

Choose your role
Help out once, or regularly. Dip your toe in by joining the team on Mitzvah Day when we put something back into the broader community. If you can spare more time, sign up for the security rota, or the kiddush rota, help with children’s services, assist with special events, help build & decorate the shul succah, host school visits to the shul. Welfare support could involve phone calls, visits, befriending, shopping, giving lifts, or cooking.
