Whisky Club
The whisky club has been meeting since January 2006. Its association with MHS is, like the club very informal. It was founded by Ian Binder, and early members were members of MHS, but since then we have gathered other people from surrounding areas. The club is guided by what are effectively minhagim that have built up over the years. We schmooze, eat, drink and may sometimes discuss the merits of the whisky
- Meetings run from 8pm to 10pm and are hosted at members’ homes in Muswell Hill every two or three months.
- The host or hosts provide fours whiskies and kiddush-type nosh.
- The whisky is normally single malt. While Scotch tends to be the preferred spirit, we are not prejudiced, we have also imbibed and enjoyed whisky (and whiskey) from the rest of Great Britain, Ireland and other parts of the world.
- We ask for a donation, which is split between costs and charities.
- We have a barbecue in the summer held at a member’s allotment.
- Please let us know if you are planning to attend, for catering purposes.
If you’d like to join us, please contact the Shul Office for the current chairperson’s email address. And remember don’t drink, eat, schmooze and drive!
