Mazal tov on your engagement! We are delighted for you and look forward to supporting you through this exciting and meaningful time in your lives.
If you would like to get married through Muswell Hill Synagogue, please contact the Rabbi and the Shul Administrator, who will guide you through the process from start to finish.
Please note that at least one partner must be a member of Muswell Hill Synagogue.
Your chuppah (wedding ceremony) can take place either at our shul or at another approved venue.
Marriage Registration
Jewish and civil marriages require two separate registrations:
-
Civil Registration – You must register your intention to marry at your local council’s register office.
-
Jewish Authorisation – You will also need to apply for a Marriage Authorisation through the Office of the Chief Rabbi.
Preparing for Your Wedding
Rabbi Michael will meet with you to plan the ceremony, discuss the meaning and structure of a Jewish wedding, and help you create a personalised and spiritually uplifting experience.
Learning Opportunities
Couples are warmly encouraged to take part in Jewish learning sessions with the Rabbinic Team, as well as the United Synagogue’s Marriage Enhancement Programme, which offers practical guidance and inspiration as you begin this next chapter together.
